On Saturday, August 17th, Burlington Basketball showed how it’s quickly becoming the home of strong basketball talent and development. At the second annual CNE x OBA 3×3 Tournament taking place at the OVO Athletic Centre, Burlington U13 Boys brought home the gold medal for first place.

Made-in-Burlington Ball Players Take Gold Among 16 Teams

With a roster of boys from last season’s U13 Rep Team, Burlington faced stiff competition in a tournament of sixteen teams from across Ontario. Making up the winning team were Jordan Braich, Griffin Collinson, Carter Gordon and Jack McMahan.

The Force team were 2-1 after their three-game pool stage and survived a three-way tie break to take first seed into the playoff stage. Meeting tough competition in the quarter finals and semi finals prepared the boys for their biggest challenge in beating a strong and talented team from KW Vipers. Aggressive defense, quick transition and a persistent attack delivered the 20-12 winning score in an exciting championship final.

In a vote of coaches and OBA officials, Jack McMahan was awarded Final MVP for his outstanding performance in the final game.

Thank you to the OBA and the CNE Foundation for staging an exciting and fun event. And thank you to all the parents and families for their ongoing support of our great players.
